Monthly Culture and News Magazine of the Catholic Church in Turkey
The magazine “Presence” is an official organ of the Episcopal Conference of Turkey. The main language is French, but you can also read articles in Italian and Turkish. There are therefore announcements, opinions, and reflections from the members of the Episcopal Conference of Turkey. The editorial is currently provided by Mgr Martin Kmetec, Archbishop of Izmir and President of Bishop Conference in Turkey.
Open to the universal Church and concerned with the education of Christian Catholics in Turkey, it presents monthly official texts from the Vatican or comments on these texts in relation to the theme chosen by the editorial committee. A double-page is also reserved for a testimony related to this theme. It is intended above all to reflect the life of the Catholic Church in Turkey and includes the relation of the main events and highlights of the different dioceses. Ecumenical and interreligious relations are also important, privileging those with the Eastern Churches and with Islam. Finally, it seeks to bring to its readers the richness of the Christian past of this country and to involve them in becoming part of the memory of the events and people who marked the history of these places.
